Convention 2025

Our Keynote speaker for Convention 2025 is the Rev. Dr. Ebassa Berhanu. His presentation draws on his journey from a pastor's son in Ethiopia to a pastor and educator in the USA. Click here for his bio.

Venue: Glacier Room - Holiday Inn & Suites Edmonton Airport - Conference Center, 1100-4 Street, Nisku, AB, T9E 8E2.

Details: The convention will begin Friday morning (9:00 AM) April 11 and conclude Saturday April 12 mid afternoon. It is a hybrid event with some delegates attending online.

Registration Fees:

  • Those participating in-person: $320.00 per person

  • Those participating via ZOOM: $160.00 per person

In person registration fees include lunch, refreshments and supper on Friday and breakfast, refreshments and lunch on Saturday. Accommodations must be booked separately.

Accommodations: Holiday Inn is offering a block of rooms for our convention at a group rate. The rooms are a mix of rooms with two queen-sized beds or one king-size bed. These rooms will be offered at the rate of $95.00 per night plus applicable taxes. The convention rate will be available for April 9-12. Rooms must be booked by April 4 to receive this rate. Financial Assistance: CALC maintains a designated fund known as the "Gathering Fund." Grants from this fund are designed to maximize attendance at CALC's two annual gatherings, the Pastors' Retreat and the General Convention. Grants are available for delegates to CALC's 2025 annual general convention and pastors' retreat.The maximum grant is $700.00 per person. The grant may be used to cover the costs of registration, accommodations and travel related to the convention or the pastors' retreat. To be considered for a grant, fully completed applications must be received by midnight February 28, 2025 (EST). Click here to access the application. 

Nominations. An election will be held on Saturday April 12 to fill five vacancies on National Council: the President and the Secretary; one position on the Board of Elders (four year term); and two positions on the Board of Trustees (four year term). The Keynote speaker for the 2025 Pastors’ Retreat is Tracee J. Swank. She serves as the leader of Church Doctor Ministries, is a certified Church Doctor consultant and leadership coach. Details: The Conference will be held on April 10th. It begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM. This is an in person event. There will be no online participation.
