calc’s Confession of Faith

CALC is a “confessional church.” Its members  subscribe to the written statements of what our Association believes, teaches and confesses. Central to our Association’s teaching is the ultimate authority of the Scriptures. Our Association accepts all the canonical books of the Old and New Testaments as a whole and in all the their parts as the divinely inspired, revealed, and inerrant Word of God, and joyfully submits to this as the only infallible authority in all matters of life and faith.Central to God’s written word is the saving work of Jesus Christ which becomes paramount for our faith and life. Our commitment above all is to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who died and rose again to save us from sin, death and the devil. Click here to view CALC’s full Confession of Faith.

We are a church of the Lutheran Reformation. Our faith and life is rooted in and is shaped by the Holy Bible and our Lutheran Confessions. Every member of CALC subscribes unreservedly to Luther’s Small Catechism and the Augsburg Confession. Click here to view Luther’s Small Catechism. Click here to view the Augsburg Confession.

POLICY ON MARRIAGE and human sexuality

In accordance with our confession of faith, we define marriage as being between one man and one woman. We view marriage as we have defined as the only acceptable union for the expression of human sexuality. Click here to view CALC’s full teaching on Marriage and human sexuality.

SANCTITY OF LIFE

Human life from conception to natural death is created in the image of God and is always sacred. The living but unborn are persons and alive in the sight of God from the time of conception. An induced abortion is a sin before God as well as against all humanity. The living but physically, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise disabled, are persons and alive in the sight of God. To induce the death of a person through euthanasia or assisted suicide is a sin before God as well as against all humanity. Click here to view CALC’s statement on the sanctity of life.
